Southwark Friends of the Earth
Now that Southwark has declared a climate emergency we want to hold them accountable for their promises and seek opportunities to create greener more biodiverse spaces in Southwark, cleaner air and greener more efficient buildings.

Southwark Group of Tenants Organisations
The Southwark Group of Tenants Organisations (SGTO) exists to empower council housing residents in the borough of Southwark. It does this through helping them to establish and maintain Tenants and Residents Associations (TRAs), through providing practical resources such as one-to-one advice and support and free printing services, and also through leading campaigns on issues that matter to them.
Through our meetings and events, we also seek to create links between decision makers in Southwark and council housing residents, helping them to influence change in their communities.
We have our group meetings on the fourth Wednesday of every month at 7pm (apart from August and December). These are opportunities for all of our members to come together and discuss issues they and other residents on their estates are facing. We are currently conducting hybrid meetings.

Just Stop Oil Southeast London
We are the local Just Stop Oil group for Southeast London. We demand that the government immediately halt all future licensing and consents for the exploration, development and production of fossil fuels in the UK.
Extinction Rebellion and Insulate Britain have demonstrated that Civil Disobedience works. They also show that we need to do significantly more to stop the greatest crime against humanity. That’s why we are moving into Civil Resistance — it’s no longer about a single project or campaign, it’s about resisting a Government that is harming us, our freedoms, rights and future, and making them work for us.
Meetings: Various locations in Southeast London.

PNK Garden
We aim to establish a commons to support sustainable behaviours.
Meetings: At PNK Garden (Lower Road with Croft Street) every other Sunday

Private Renters Support Southwark
The private rented sector has grown significantly in Southwark over the last ten years and now accounts for nearly one-third of all households in the borough. Many tenants also fear illegal eviction or face overcrowding, but at the same time are unaware of the rights they have, or the help that is available to support them.
Through Private Renters Support Southwark we want to give private tenants a voice, and to provide a safe space for them to meet, exchange information and get help where needed.
Meetings: Various locations in Southeast London.

Southwark Climate Citizen Jury
We are a group of Southwark residents randomly chosen by sortition to reflect the diversity of the borough population in order to answer the question: ‘What needs to change in Southwark to tackle the emergency of climate change fairly and effectively for people and nature?’
After listening to and questioning a range of expert commentators we shared our ideas, deliberated on the issues and created a set of recommendations for Southwark Council to consider.
We are committed to monitor and lobby the Council for putting these recommendations into practice.
Read the full report with our recommendations.
Southwark Cyclists
Southwark Cyclists’ Vision is that a child and their grandparent can cycle to any Southwark destination, easily and safely:
- Low traffic neighbourhoods for all Southwark communities
- Safe walking and cycling network to every school, high street and station
- End free car parking by 2026
- School street for every school in Southwark
We believe that active travel is a key solution to the climate emergency, illegal air pollution, and dangerous roads. Southwark needs to decarbonise our streets quickly, in particular by enabling people of all abilities to cycle.
Southwark Cyclists is a volunteer led group working for safer, better, and more inclusive cycling conditions in the borough. We are a local group of the London Cycling Campaign.
